PUPPY PRESCHOOL presented by Purely Positive Dog Training

Puppy preschool will make an invaluable contribution to your dog's development. At Puppy Preschool we help to provide owners with the skills needed to develop good habits in the new pup. Obedience training starts at Puppy Preschool with pups learning basic commands. The training of puppies is through positive reinforcement so they can learn to behave appropriately. It is a really enjoyable learning experience for pups and owners and provides a good basis for continuing obedience . More importantly, pups that attend Puppy Preschool receive temperament training and socialisation. Evidence shows that temperament modification can only be achieved in the puppy phase of life, most ideally this is between 6 and 18 weeks. This can be achieved by being exposed to and learning to relate to other pups, dogs and people.

It is well documented that dogs that don't have good socialisation are at risk of becoming aggressive, fearful of people or other dogs, and difficult to manage in later life. Puppy Preschool helps pups become well balanced dogs that like other dogs and people. Another very important reason for attanding Puppy Preschool is that it familiarises the pup with the vet hospital and creates a special bond with the hospital and staff. Graduated pups love coming back to visit and are easier to handle during further examinations and treatments. Classes include a demonstration of vet checking your puppy. The vet will discuss preventative health and give a tour of the hospital... ending with Puppy Graduation!
